Clif Tinker

Clif Tinker, based in San Antonio, is both a fine and commercial artist, mainly doing Expressionist landscapes.BA Psychology, the University of Houston (1981)-UTSA,BFA in Painting (1992) and MA in Art History (2001). Tinker has taught art since 1986, and is currently Fine Arts Chair at James Madison High School. In 1993 Tinker designed the 80,000 square foot banners, known as “The Transition Game”, for the San Antonio Spurs in the Alamodome. In1998, was runner up in the Fiesta poster contest. Tinker designed the poster for the San Antonio Public Library Centennial in 2003. In 2004, he designed a poster called “San Antonio Spurs, Then and Now”, commemorating their second championship. In 2004, the Texas State Teachers’ Association (TSTA) used a Tinker painting for their 125th anniversary poster. In 2010 the HEB Grocery Company commissioned Tinker to design six reusable shopping bags and numerous kitchen items. Over 500,000 items have been sold. Tinker has sold over 500 paintings in galleries. UTSA has eleven of Tinker’s paintings and posters in their collection.
